Interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning: Experiences and Reflections From Teaching Electronic Engineering in China

Continuous developments in the electronics industry have led to constantly changing career roles and graduate skills requirements. Students University of Electronic Science Technology China (UESTC) complained that numerous courses electronic engineering are heavily focused on theoretical knowledge is disconnected from needs industry. Thus, an effort toward delivering student-centered educational programmes meet industry, this article introduces innovative course was developed using project-based learning (PBL) method situated undergraduate programme at UESTC. Since real-world projects require teams collaborate ill-defined problems, we developing professional technical skills, drawing a range more typical courses. We provide full details two were created for PBL approach evaluate them as practice examples demonstrate impact practical pedagogic innovation According our evaluation, completed by all 40 enrolled students, based interdisciplinary exercises demonstrated significant improvement student satisfaction 65% students preferred comparison traditional lecture-based
